Loft Conversion, West Hallam

This loft conversion was challenging from the outset. The existing ridge line was relatively low, and combined with the existing hipped roof, it meant that the existing loft space was relatively small.  The brief was to provide a master bedroom, while still retaining all other rooms within the property.  To gain a usable space within the loft a design was drawn up to incorporate a side and rear dormer, this involved a complex steel frame design which was then used to support the lightweight dormer cheeks.
